What are your closet organizers' shelves made of?
We use Professional Grade Thermofused Melamine components for all our closet organizers.
What does that mean, you ask? Basically, our closet organizer shelves are made of furniture grade, fine-particle melamine
laminate that is 3/4" thick. This performs better than other brands which contain larger particles and
are only 1/2" or 5/8" thick.
Our closet organizer systems are Environmentally Preferred Products (EPP) as certified by the Composite Panel Association.
Also, our standard closet organizers have 2mm edgebanding (the strip on the edges of the shelves and vertical panels) versus the 0.5mm used by most of our competitors.
How deep are your closet organizers?
The standard depth for closet organizers is 14 inches. So, for simplicity sake, our online
tool designs and prices closet organizers that are 14 inches deep.
However, if your closet organizer design needs
to be less or more than 14 inches deep, we can easily do that. Please call us at our toll free number for
custom closet organizers that meet your needs. Our organizers can be custom sized from 10" deep to 24" deep.
And best of all, this customization doesn't mean you're going to pay "custom" prices. With Closet Organizers USA, you only pay for the material you need!
Why don't the measurements under my closet design units add up to the length of my wall?
The number shown under each unit in your online closet organizer design is the interior shelf width. It does not include the vertical panels. Each vertical panel is 3/4" wide. Therefore, if you had only one unit on your wall that had an interior shelf width of 24", the entire width of your one unit closet design would be 25 1/2" (24" + 3/4" + 3/4").
Additionally, we deduct 3/8" from each wall in your closet organizer design to allow a little "wiggle" room during the installation.
What is a Wall Hung system?
Wall hung closet systems hang from a steel rail that is installed at 81" from the floor. The top shelf is at 84" and the bottom shelf stops 12" from the floor.
For shorter units like double hang or long hang units, the vertical panels are 48" tall with a contoured (rounded) front edge to protect against scratches or bumps (a must for parents with small children). For taller units, the vertical panels are a full 72" tall.
Typically, customers choose wall hung designs for Reach In closets and smaller Walk In closets.
What is a Floor Standing system?
Floor standing closet organizer systems will stand on the floor. The top shelf is at 84" and they have a bottom shelf with a toe kick.
All vertical panels are a full 84" tall.
Typically, customers choose floor standing designs for larger Walk In closets.
How do your closet organizers attach to the wall?
For our Wall Hung designs, the closet organizer
units hang on the wall from a steel rail that you attach at approximately 81" from the floor. Each vertical
panel hangs from this rail and stops 12" from the floor. All the closet organizer shelves, rods, drawers
and baskets attach to the verticals.
For our Floor Standing designs, the closet organizer
units have matching cleats at the top and bottom. When you're done building your closet, you can drive a screw through the top cleat into the studs behind the units.
Very simple. Very easy. Very secure.

Do you provide all the hardware for my closet?
We do! Your order will include every screw, cam lock and shelf pin you'll need to complete the installation.
Can a homeowner install your closet organizers or do I need to hire a professional?
About 70% of our closets are installed by the homeowner. Many weekend warriors channel their inner "HGTV super star" and install their closets in one or two days.
The system uses a standard cam lock connector to join the units together. Every part is pre-cut and pre-drilled. Every vertical panel, shelf, drawer, hang rod, etc. has a label with a unit number on it. These unit numbers will match the unit numbers on the drawings you will receive with your order.
Very easy...and kinda fun!
